Word Art

Hello blogger friends!

It's time for challenge #43 at Word Art Wednesday. For this week's journal page I used a little technique called "Cut and Paste"! I'm not talking about the easy photoshop kind.  For me it's fussy cutting all the way. I know that so many couldn't be bothered but I love the results and the look of detailed cutting is so worth the effort!

For the background I used my big brush markers from Faber Castell Design Memory Craft. I covered a large square acrylic block with the marker, sprayed a bit of water on it and "stamped" it on the page. I love the water colour effect it gives. Next I traced some swirls from a Crafters Workshop template to create  the flower stems. I used a green big brush market to colour them in. For the flowers I used a foam stamp and  the big brush marker. The letters are traced, cut and coloured with...you guessed it, big brush markers! Everything was done on dictionary paper. (I used an old outdated one of course!) I used small pieces of the dictionary paper  to create the flower centres. The last step was to use a Tim Holtz script stamp on both sides and I was done.

How is your art journaling journey coming along???

  1. I am so copying the techniques on this page today. I love the look of using the printed pages to work on. I just wish I had purchased more colours of the big brush markers.

  2. This is very artistic, Marjolaine, and i can tell just by looking at it that you put A LOT of work and a lot of heart into this project. It shows! When there is love in a project, you can just see it. This is really pretty and I'm VERY grateful that you took the time to really create what God was laying on your heart to make, and....that you shared it with us this week at Word Art Wednesday. It's such a treat and a blessing to have crafters share the art God is giving them to create. I appreciate your art so much, and how you share of yourself as well. May you have a blessed and peaceful week in the Lord.
    Blessings to you,

  3. Another super job, Marjolaine! I have done more fussy cutting in scrapbooking than I have yet in my art journaling, but seeing how beautifully you used that "tool" here, I am going to move in that direction. So, can you believe I have not ONE big brush marker??? A trip to the store may just be in order. Now, as to the Word you have chosen for the "wordy" creation, it is one of my favorites from the Bible because it is written in language that today's youth might understand. No fancy talk, no mixed message...just a straightforward promise from our Father. And, how cool is that? Nicely done, my friend!
