Hello blogger friends,
The January Main Challenge is up at the Scrapping Everyday Miracles site.
This month’s challenge is to scrap about a
"not-so-happy" moment in your life.
The scrap twist is to include
a bird on your project.
"While I
would like us to look for blessings in the hardships, your take on this
challenge shouldn't be hard. You can scrap anything you think of in this line:
it can be a photo of your crying or just-a-little-bit sad child; it can be a
story about a burst tire in the middle of nowhere...or you can express your
feelings and preserve some special memories about a loved person who passed
away."
I did not have to think too long about a topic for this challenge. Our sweet dog Tammy passed away recently and I was ready to make a page in her honour. Scrapbooking has always been very therapeutic for me and I was ready for it. We got Tammy during a difficult time in our life and it really felt like God had sent us angel dog to bring us joy. She was so perfect, even when she ate all the Valentine's brownies and the Easter chocolate! (don't worry, it wasn't the toxic kind!)
We only had Tammy for one year and nine months but she will be forever engraved on our hearts.
For this page I started with the pink chipboard bird and went from there. It was the deciding factor for the colours I chose and since I already had my stash of chipboard out I decided to use as much of it as I could. I didn't like the page at first and I was going to make a new one for this challenge but after a few days it grew on me.
I hope you will join us this month at SEM, there is always a wonderful prize to be won!
Thank you for sharing that Marjolaine. I am sure it was not easy. That is a beautiful tribute to your dog Tammy. I love the colours and your choice of chipboard accents.

I can't even imagine the day we have to say good bye to our Wilson. He drives me crazy with his barking, but he's so cute, and the kids adore him. That will be a hard day indeed. How wonderful that your family has something so lovingly made to look back on and recall all the good memories of life with Tammy!
