MD Metal Sheets with Gina's Designs

Hello my friends,

I've been away all month but now I'm back and ready to get my craft on! Last week I was in Vegas for the Craft and Hobby Association Conference and Trade Show. It's always such an amazing event seeing old friends and meeting new ones. It's also the hot spot for discovering new product and seeing all the new releases first hand.

One of my favorite new product from the show was Metal Sheets from MD Building Products Yes, it's more of a hardware store but it's not the first time I use art supplies from such a place!

I cannot tell you how excited I am about these. I have been dreaming up all kinds of ideas and can't wait to get my hands on some of it. For now I had to settle for the piece I got at the show when I did their make-n-take.

The make-n-take included a wood frame that we stapled a piece of metal sheet to. It's made to hang earrings and jewelry to. To add color to the metal sheet I used Patina paint from Ranger. Unfortunately I only had green moss, orange and rust so I added a bit of turquoise acrylic paint. I covered it with a layer of metal sealer to protect it from flaking.
The gorgeous chipboard pieces are of course from Gina's Designs. I covered each piece with gesso and then stamped them with script. I also rubbed a little acrylic paint to make them stand out. My frame is painted in acrylic, stamped and distressed a bit with gesso. To finish the piece I found the perfect Prima flowers. Stunning!

The Gina's Designs chipboard that I used are:
-10 Words
-Large Garden Fairies
-Butterflies & Dragonflies
-Border Sticks

I will be hanging this piece of art in my bathroom. It's so cheery and bright it just makes me smile!

I have so many ideas for this sheet metal. What would you do with it?
