Hello blogger friends, it's been a long long time since I've done a Why Waste Wednesday post but I thought this simple layout was perfect for it. I know a few of you really enjoy reading about how I use my stash of old supplies. For this layout I used old circle chipboard pieces and old rub-ons. I hope you like this tutorial and that you will try it for yourself.
Although
I have about a dozen jars of buttons in my craft room I still find
myself wishing I had more. Sometimes it's because the color isn't
right. Other times, I simply want buttons that have more interest and
show my personality. In this
tutorial I will show you how to make your own epoxy looking buttons
to match your projects. With just a few basic supplies you will make
beautiful custom buttons that you will want to collect and have ready
when you need them.
Step One
Paint all your chipboard with gesso or white paint and allow to dry.
Step Two
Add your rub-ons or your stamped images
Step
Three Mark where you will punch your holes.
Step
Four Punch two to four holes in the centre of the chipboard using a
Crop-A-Dile.
Step
Five Outline the edge and sides of the buttons with a black marker.
Step Six
Cover your buttons with a layer of 3D Liquid Lacquer and allow to air
dry.
You now
have a bunch of really cute buttons to work with or to add to your
collection. Whether you use rub-ons or stamps, these buttons will be
unique and original. If you're good at doodling, you might want to
try that on your buttons as well for a completely fresh approach.
What treasure do you have hidden away? Use them today!
