Banners of Hope

Hello bloggers friends,

I want to tell you about something really great that I'm participating in next month at CHA. It's called Banners of Hope and here is what the Craft and Hobby Association had to say about it.

“Banners of Hope” Project at CHA 2014

The first project of the Fabric Arts Council, the “Banners of Hope” Project, will be launched at the Craft and Hobby Association Mega Show (CHA 2014), held in Anaheim, January 10-15, 2014.  The “Banners of Hope” Project features fabrics-based banners created during the CHA Show to express messages of hope and encouragement in a subtle artistic format to be displayed in public locations to benefit those in challenging circumstances.  There will be a construction zone at the CHA Show to make banners and offer advice on how to replicate the inspirational program in cities across the U.S. and internationally.

Promoting the Healing Art of Crafting

A display of “Banners of Hope” Project banners will be created by CHA designers and displayed at the CHA 2014 Show.  The banners will be donated to the “Charity Wings” www.charitywings.org outreach program for their charity promotional event, held January 15-16, 2014, to be broadcasted on the web.  The banners will also be used by the Charity Wings traveling exhibit to promote the healing art of crafting.

So that sums it up, I'm not a sewer but with the help of my twelve year old daughter who just learned how to sew I managed to put one together just fine. Of course a bottle of Fabri-Tac from Beacon Adhesives saved the day when some of the sewing didn't turn out how I wanted it too!

Where is your hope today?
