Sweet Home Mini Album

Supplies: Up in the Trees Collection from My Little Shoebox
House Album from Breezy Design
Acrylic Arrow Album from Rusty Pickles
Distress Ink from Ranger
Ink Blending Tool from Ranger
Stickles from Ranger
Lace Ribbon from Graphic 45
Miscellaneous ribbon and brads
Half pearls from the Dollar Store
Border Punches from EK
Zip Dry from Beacon Adhesives
Metal Rings

I started this project by cutting the chimney off from the chipboard album and removing
the plastic film from the acrylic one.

Zip Dry is amazing on acrylic, you can't even see it on the other side!

I layered the flowers and glued on a half pearl. I added some diamond Stickles
to the flowers and the bird's wing  to add a little shimmer.
On the left I made a pocket using the circle paper that came in the kit.
I made the trim on the roof with border punches, I just love how they turned out.
 Extra space for some journaling!

I used the left over circle paper to add an extra "pocket" page
and then added some tabs on the side and a little tag inside.

The tree branches on this acrylic page came from the cardstock sticker sheet in the kit
as did the letters.

I used Zip Dry to adhere the paper to the album. It is perfect because
it does not cause wrinkles!

                                                                     Another spot for hidden journaling,

The My Little Shoebox kits come with a sheet of 3D roll up flower diecuts which I like to distress by crumpling up in my hand and then using the ink blending tool to apply distress ink around the edge. I then roll them up and use Zip Dry to glue them together. These beautiful roses would not be the same without a little Stickles to glam them up!

The chipboard heart is from the front of the album, I covered it with paper and
applied ink to the edges. I used Zip Dry to attach it to the page.

  1. WOW! That turned out super. You have such great ideas. I love My Little Shoebox and it is nice to see what you have done with it. I am a stickler for journaling and you have left lots of space. You also really made the flowers work with the sparkly edging. Love it all. Keep up the good work.

  3. There is so much attention to detail here and I love how you have showed us so much of the album, not just the cover. All the different journalling spots will be so useful, and having hidden ones is very thoughtful.
