Left -Over Chipboard Letters!

If you are like me you probably have a pretty big stash of chipboard letter just waiting to be used. Mine are in every colour, size and font. Every set is missing the most popular letters and I just don't have much to say that would use up  z, x and q!

Supplies: Wooden box, ribbon, gems, doilies and butterflies from the Dollar Store
Chipboard letter-mostly from Breezy Design
Gesso from Claudine Hellmuth
Mod Podge
Zip Dry
Acrylic paint
Glimmer Mist
Glossy Accents from Ranger

I started this project with a piece of cardstock and used mod podge to adhere my left-overs letters on it. I used the negative pieces to create a border all around the page.
I adhered my letters on the box with mod podge  spelling out the word inspire in the middle. The edge of the lid was not wide enough for the chipboard pieces so I used some old letter stickers.
Next I painted everything with two layers of gesso, letting it dry between coats.
Next I sprayed a generous amount of Glimmer Mist. I used the Crown Jewels Collection which includes Black Cherry, Fully Purple,  Pink Bubblegum and  Pearl. I sprayed the colours first and then added shine with the Pearl spray.  I used acrylic paint to accent the word inspire  and once everything was dry I used Glossy Accents to really bring the word to life. I wanted a little contrast so I picked a different colour for the butterflies and ribbon border which I adhered with Zip Dry

The flowers on the layout were made with paper doilies.  I cut them up in eight pieces and folded each piece in half.

I then made a fan out of the pieces and stapled them together. I opened them up and played around with them until I was satisfied with how they looked. I sprayed them with glimmer mist to match and added a gem in the centre.
