For my first week I am using the sketch of the week for Scrapbook News and Review It's a simple one and was really quick to put together.
For this layout, I started out with choosing two of the ugliest, thin, cheap, old (not vintage, just old!) pieces of patterned papers I could find in my stash. I figure why waste a new piece of cardstock! I glued them together so I now have a white piece on both sides. You can see the pattern a bit but I like the texture it gave.
Next I ransacked through my chipboard bin and selected these pieces.
I wasn't quite satisfied at this point so I added a coat of Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint to all the surfaces.
I'm not usually a fan of white backgrounds but I've been wanting to try the "splatter" look for a while. This page feels more like a journal page but I'm happy with it! The best part is that it didn't cost me a penny!
Your art is absolutely beautiful! This is just so creative and fun, as is your entire blog. Just so fun and creative! I really would love to have you link up at Word Art Wednesday. We would LOVE to have you play along, and we offer great prizes, free word art, and a new challenge every week. Your art would be a welcome addition to our challenges, and I hope you will stop by and link up. This project would be perfet. I look forward to seeing what else you will create!
