I'm back for my second Why Waste Wednesdays and I have to say that I am loving it! It's not just that I'm using up scraps but I also love using a sketch and this week I have added a colour combo which made it even better. With my printed copy of this week's colour palette from Scrapbook News and Review as well as their sketch of the week I was armed and ready to go. It's so easy to sort through scraps of papers and embellishments when you have all the exact colours figured out!
I started off with a peach coloured piece of cardstock that has been in my stash for years...reason being that I have a strong dislike for that colour! In the end I added a little purple distress ink around the edges so it wouldn't look so peachy! These are not colours I would of put together on my own but I really like the result. Even in my wardrobe I am trying SO HARD to add colour and limit black.
These pieces of chipboard were left-overs of different kits. The old me would never mix them up because kit pieces should stay together! (no laughing, I'm not the only crazy person who has felt this way!) It turns out that I liked them all mixed up, it added a bit of daring excitement to my life!
The cord I used was the handle on a gift bag. I had removed it because I knew that someday I would put it on a project. It "happened" to be sitting on the table where I was working and was the perfect colour. Sorting through buttons was fun. Who knew that I had such an assortment? Other then gray, I easily found every colour on the palette.
It all started with these scraps!
And this awesome sketch
And this fabulous colour palette which took me totally out of my comfort zone! Did I mention how much I dislike the colour peach!!!
Wednesday is the one day a week that I work, so have missed these Wednesday posts before. I will try not to miss the again! Another great one!
