Vintage Heart Album

Last month I posted a sneak peek of one of the classes I was going to be teaching and I thought that today was a good day to show you the rest of the album.

The album came in a kit from TLC and although it's from a few years ago I still love it and have tons of them in my shop. I wanted it to look old with a vintage feel so I added a lot of  walnut stain distress ink.  The front cover has layers of heading tape (from the fabric store) that I frayed and inked up, some book text and some of the embellishments that come in the kit. I used the back of some of the chipboard to better suit it to my project.

On this page I stenciled a design with green distress ink.
After all these years I still love the idea of hidden journaling. Since the album was small I wanted to maximize my photo space so I created some mini pages to add to the album.  I'm really loving doilies right now, especially  with a little distress ink.  For the extra page I used an index card folded in half, stamped with some amazing Tim Holtz's stamps and of course...distress ink!

One of my favourite things at the moment is creating ruffles with book text. It's a little something I learned from Donna Downey. I also rubbed white paint over all the rub-ons and on some of the brighter pages to soften the look and take away the "new and Shiny" look.

I love this little album, I just need to fill those journaling spots  and it will be all done.

  1. What a great mini album! Sometimes, "time" escapes me, yet I still want to do something creative. Perfect solution! Thanks!
