Why Waste Wednesday

Hello bloggers, it's time for another Why Waste Wednesday which is quickly becoming my favourite thing on my to-do list! I love this simple non-stress approach to scrapbooking! For today's layout I am killing two birds with one stone. I am participating in a challenge posted at Scrap Fit. The challenge is to dig deep into your stash and find old stickers to bring back to life. Of course that is totally perfect for me, you know how I love to use outdated things and scraps to create layouts to post on Wednesdays! This was a little harder then expected for me since I've never really liked stickers and therefore my stash was on the light side. I did manage to find this one sheet of stickers. It was untouched from about 10-12 years ago. Every time I saw it I felt guilty because it was one of the first things I ever bought from a "real" scrapbooking store.  Being on a tight budget at the time, this was a big deal and I had wasted them!

As usual I started with some scraps, finding some that matched my stickers. My flowers are made out of garbage, really cool zippers that I ripped of some little pouches that my buttons came in. They "happened" to be the right colours. I wanted to use a white background so I added a little life to it by using a stencil and some spray inks.

To add a little more life to my stickers I covered them with a layer of Glossy Accents to make them look like epoxy stickers. I added foam squares to the back of the word Wild to bring it out. I also cut the heads off the safety pins to make them more grown-up. (they're on the top left-hand side of the photo)
These are not the kind of words that I would usually use to describe myself but it's what I had to work with. It kind of goes with the photo. Every year at our family reunion in September we have a costume party and I'm always a bit grumpy during the preparation and trying to have the whole family agree on a theme. I do it because I refuse to be a  party pooper even though  the whole thing ends up driving me crazy. I also do it because it's my kids one chance at a dress up party since we do not celebrate Halloween.

This is what I had to work with. It would of been a lot easier to do a layout about one of my babies turning one but I wanted to show you (and mostly myself) to think outside the box. In the past I never would of used something like this in a different way then it was intended. But now I'm just a WILD wonderful mama who likes to do crazy things! By the way, what do you think of the exclamation mark??!!
