Word Art

This week's Word Art Wednesday is Deuteronomy 6:5 "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength."  For me to love God is to know God. As John Piper puts it "To love God we must know him. God would not be honored by groundless love. In fact, there is no such thing. If we do not know anything about God, there is nothing in our mind to awaken love. If love does not come from knowing God, there is no point in calling it love for God.  For this journal page I wanted to remind myself that I have to love God with everything I have. There is no part of me that I want to keep from him. Sounds easy enough doesn't it? Well it's not! There are areas of my life that I  hold onto a little too tightly. It's not that I don't want to love Him with all my strength, soul and heart but sometimes I believe the lie that it's just easier to do it my own way. In my own strength I realize that I could never obey this command, that is why God send His son Jesus and gives us His Holy Spirit. With His help I can do this, and on days when I don't, I can ask Him  to help me in areas where I don’t love him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. God is faithful and He's not done with me yet!

  2. what a wonderful journal page! and thank you for sharing your reflections, a reminder and encouragement to me.

(also, perhaps you would consider turning off word verification if you want more comments. sometimes it discourages readers to post since it is so hard to read those words.)
