Why Waste Wednesday

Hello fellow bloggers!
I'm here with Why Waste Wednesday, this time using older supplies as opposed to scraps. I ordered this paper three years ago and although it is very pretty, it was not what I had expected so I never used it. I'll be honest, I don't like shells (unless they're on the beach!) and this collection was covered in shells which I did not see on-line. Sooooo, instead of wasting it I decide to use it.

This layout is about my daughter's baptism. This was a big step for her and she did not take the decision lightly. It was really beautiful to see her take this step. She was sad to not have her grand-parents there but was blessed to be surrounded by our church family.

The title was very important to me and it took a long time to find it. I knew it was the right one as soon as I saw it!
I printed the words out using the clementine font, cut them out and used silver alcohol ink to colour the letters. (beware, it flakes and is not made for paper...but it looks really cool!)

I fussy cut a bunch of the flowers on the paper and covered them in stickles. Lastly I added  pearls and I was done.

How about you, do you have old papers you could get creative with? Comment on this post to let me know what you plan on doing with it!

  1. I love, love, LOVE this layout for so many reasons. First, it's beautiful. But it also makes me remember my own baptism. I was baptised in 1984 in Chub Lake in Minnesota. It was a beautiful experience I will never forget. So much more memorable than being baptized in a baptismal pool at church for some reason. I hope it is a wonderful memory for her FOREVER. Thanks for sharing this at Word Art Wednesday!

  4. I come from a Midwestern Methodist family who baptizes their infants before (generally)6 months of age. I have no recollection of that baptism, which is pretty sad. I am thrilled that this was your daughter's decision. You layout is worthy of this moment! Beautiful, in fact!

  5. Your layout is so beautiful!!!! It's wonderful that you documented this treasured memory. Your daughter will be able to reflect on it for years to come and share it with future generations. Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Word Art Wednesday.

I have so many old papers that I could use, but I keep buying new ones. LOL I do try to make it a point to use older stuff every now and then.
