Peace in the Storm Canvas

Hello blogger friends,

I hope you are having an amazing and peaceful day!
As for me, I have peace in my storm and I'm choosing to have joy in the midst of it.

For this painting I used Deco Art Media line, a board, a chipboard piece and a palette knife. I had no idea what I was going for but after creating the background, all I could see was a storm so a storm it became! Here are the steps I took to create this canvas:

Step One: Use a palette knife to cover the board in gesso.

Step Two: Use the palette knife to make designs in the gesso. This will add nice texture to your background.

Step Three: Apply different colors of paint, scrapping it on with a palette knife. Leave some areas bare so the gesso will show through.

Step Four: Cover your chipboard piece with modeling paste and allow to dry.
I discovered that this brand of modeling paste is removable. This was a great discovery because I had made rain drops on the canvas that I didn't like and I was able to rub them off. Bonus!

Step Five: Paint the chipboard with gesso for a creamier, whiter look.

Step Six: Add some rub-ons and cover them with a layer of gel medium to protect them from flaking off. Use the gel medium to adhere words.

How about you, do you feel like this little dove trying to fly in a huge storm?
You don't have to do it alone, you are loved by the one who created you and He is waiting to carry you through.
