ScrapFit Ombre Challenge

I've recently found a blog who's challenges I love so be prepared to see a few of  these every month! One of the challenges this month over at ScrapFit is to add some "ombre" to my layout. I had no idea what that was but after reading their post I thought it was cool enough to try! If you want to know more you're just going to have to go on over to ScrapFit and see what ombre is all about. While there perhaps you'll be enticed to join me on this challenge!

For this layout I had to make a trip to the local hardware store to find some matching paint chips! Unfortunately, they only had little ones so I had to improvise. I wasn't sure about all this at first but I'm glad I tried something new. I really liked the effect of these little borders. I added small dots of dimensional paint to my chipboard pieces and letters. It was an easy way to add colour to them.

This sketch is by Amarilys Doria and I had the perfect kit to use for it which made it easy. (an old TLC one that I've been wanting to use for the last 4 years!) I loved the sketch as is so I didn't change anything. Well that's it for today. I do hope you will join me in these challenges!

  1. Exceptional layout! Only on close inspection can you every tell you used the smaller paint chips, and, really, does it matter in the grand scheme of things? This is about supporting that special photo, and you have done it perfectly!

    1. Karen, I've been wanting to do your challenge since you invited me to do so a little while back. The problem was that I was only blogging once a week (on Wednesdays) and I was always too late for the challenge. I didn't realise I could link anything uplifting! I'm now doing multiple challenges a week so I hope to add Word Art to my projects!
